A standard home inspection cannot see inside underground or under-slab drain lines. That is why a sewer scope inspection can be one of the most valuable add-on services for certain homes.
A drain line camera inspection allows us to evaluate visible conditions inside the main drain line and look for issues that may not be visible during a regular inspection.
HouseMaster provides sewer scope inspections in Orlando, Clermont, Winter Garden, Kissimmee, Winter Park, The Villages, and surrounding Central Florida areas.

A sewer scope inspection uses a specialized camera to evaluate the interior of the main drain line, typically from the home toward the city sewer connection, main waste line, or accessible cleanout. The purpose is to look for visible concerns such as:
Blockages and Cracks
Pipe deterioration
Root intrusion, Debris or restrictions
Separated sections
Bellies or low areas
Cast iron corrosion
A sewer scope does not inspect every small branch line unless additional access and plumbing work are performed. Our approach is practical: start with the main line where many major problems are commonly found.

A sewer scope is especially valuable when:
The home is older
Cast iron drain lines may be present
Large trees are near the likely sewer line path
Toilets or drains gurgle
Sinks, tubs, or showers drain slowly
There are signs of prior plumbing backups
Remodeling and under-slab piping may remain original
The buyer wants more information before closing
In many homes, the visible plumbing has been updated, but the drain line below the slab may still be original. A camera inspection can help provide better information before the buyer inherits a costly hidden problem.

Florida homes often have slab foundations, which means drain lines may be hidden below concrete. If a major drain line defect is discovered after closing, repairs can be disruptive and expensive.
A sewer scope helps reduce risk by giving the buyer more information about a system that is otherwise mostly hidden.
Not every buyer needs every inspection. If the home is newer, has modern piping, shows no drainage symptoms, and has no major risk factors, a sewer scope may be less urgent. But when risk factors are present, the sewer scope can provide important information and negotiation value.
HouseMaster uses a practical, risk-based approach.
We are not just “running a camera.” We are looking for conditions that could create future cost, disruption, or uncertainty for the buyer. We help explain what was visible, what was limited, and when a licensed plumber should be consulted for further evaluation or repair pricing.
